I have included this information not necessarily to
encourage people to leave their religion, but rather, to give encouragement
to people who have made the decision to do so. If you adhere to a religion
and it's working for you, that's great. Have at it. But for many, it's not
working, and they are often too overwhelmed to leave. This section is for
those people - the ones who are unhappy where they are and/or have been
abused by people in their church.
I focus mainly on Christianity as that's what I'm
familiar with, but with a little thought, it's likely that many ideas may be
applied to other belief systems, too. Leaving religion was a traumatic
ordeal for me, and I hope to provide others with the support and resources
that I couldn't find when I initially walked away.
